Grouprituals

Are you on the brink of a major transition, or just closing an intense chapter in your life? Group rituals help you honor this transition with the support of your ohana—Hawaiian for your inner circle: loved ones, family, and close friends. These rituals are also a beautiful way to support someone going through a difficult period.

Birth

The birth of a child is one of the most intense and special moments in life. Not only for the child but also for the parents, the family, and the extended circle, it marks the beginning of a new phase. At Oceanlight, I offer:
 

Lomi Lomi Hapai: A loving Hawaiian massageritual for you and your baby to relax during pregnancy.
 

Birthblessing: A ceremony with flowers, herbs, sounds and prayers to welcome your baby. This ceremony is very beautiful to do at the end of your pregnancy while your baby is still in your belly. A birthblessing can be a personal ceremony for you and your baby, or facilitated as a group ritual.
 

Death

Death is often a charged topic in our Western culture. Of course it's hard to let go of a loved one. Yet, fundamentally, one returns to the source—the all-encompassing consciousness—and death is a natural part of life’s cycle. Personally, I find it beautiful to bring more awareness to this process. At Oceanlight, you can find rituals to consciously bid farewell, both for the one transitioning and their loved ones:
 

Water Farewell Ritual: For those in their final stage of life, wishing to consciously say goodbye with their ohana.
 

Wake Ceremony: Support during a wake with cleansing and chanting.
 

Bone-Washing Ritual: A bone-massage from the Lomi Lomi tradition to release tension and emotional burden in connective tissue. Bone-washing was traditionally used by Hawaiians to assist the deceased in a pure transition to the next world.
